Community Services Unit

The Community Services Unit consists of a Police Corporal who works under the supervision of the Support Services Division Commander. Primary duties assigned to the Community Services Unit include:
  • Serve as School Resource and Support Officers.
  • Instruct Law Enforcement Teaching Students (L.E.T.S.) program at local schools.
  • Assist local business community as the Department’s Business Liaison.
  • Coordinate with civilian auxiliary personnel to staff the Police Storefront.
  • Provide support functions to all AOR Officers including block parties, Crime Awareness Notice follow-ups, Area Enhancement Request follow-ups, etc.
  • Coordinate and provide support for the Auxiliary Program.
  • Coordinate insurance inspections or security surveys in homes or businesses.
  • Provide direct support and assistance in all crime prevention and safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate research and develop programs which foster a positive relationship between the community and the department.
    The CSU offices are located at the Police Storefront located at 4081 Waller Creek #165 in the Shops of Highland Village behind Whole Foods.
